Our services align to best global asset management practices, focusing on the complex challenge of managing assets in a way that generates maximum value. We provide a range of services that enables clients to “think, plan, adapt and deliver” new, innovative ways of managing assets

CAMS provides strategic asset management advisory services to a wide range of clients across the UK and internationally.

Our approach to strategic planning fully aligns with the requirements of ISO 55001, the International Standard for Asset Management. By approaching asset management using the Standard as guidance, we have identified significant improvements in the way clients plan, design, build and maintain their assets. Notable achievements include:

Maintenance savings in excess of £1.5M (18%) per year

A decrease in whole life cycle costs by 20%

25% Improved efficiencies in data and information management.

Identification of over 30 improvement opportunities for clients in the top quartile of performance within their respective sector

Through services provided by CAMS, TransPennine Express (First Group), become the first train operating company in the country to receive a prestigious international accreditation for how it manages its railway stations.

We undertake asset management maturity assessments for clients to help them identify opportunities to improve performance, reduce risks and whole life cycle costs.

An assessment recently completed for a housing association in the south-west yielded 39 improvement opportunities that this organisation is now implementing- this is an organisation that sits in the top quartile of performance when gauged against its peers in the housing sector.

Maturity assessments are typically carried out over a 2-3 week period, involving interviews with key staff, process walkthrough workshops, focus groups and a comprehensive document reviews.

Our clients have told us that carrying out a maturity assessment of their organisation has been the single most valuable assignment that CAMS has undertaken, as it helped them identify opportunities that their standard approach to auditing and performance reviews couldn’t identify.

We undertake due diligence and then provide recommendations for how to optimise maintenance planning and delivery for asset-centric organisations.

We identify options available to enable the change processes that will deliver ongoing and continuous improvement in asset maintenance. We focus on two areas:

1. Identifying the best maintenance to carry out in the first place, getting the blend right between reactive, planned preventative and cyclic maintenance to recognise the maximum value for money, moving clients away from ‘repair on failure’ and time-based strategies to Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) using principles such as Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Assessments (FMECA)

2. Streamline the processes involved in planning and maintenance delivery through better work management systems and DLO management.
